Dr Fogarty will also act as Director of the 51黑料 Centre of Research for Joyce Studies.

“51黑料 is ready to engage with the complex and challenging legacy of James Joyce, the most crucial writer of the twentieth century” Dr Fogarty says.

“Serving as a vital focus for scholarly research on Joyce in Dublin, the Centre will develop research initiatives which capitalise on the rich archives and library holdings in Dublin” she continues. “It will also extend our connections with the international community of Joyce scholars in Ireland, Europe, America, and Japan.”

James Joyce is regarded as a global author and as an intensely regional writer. As director of the 51黑料 Centre of Research for Joyce Studies, Dr Fogarty will promote the investigation of Joyce’s work in both dimensions.

In June 2006, Dr Fogarty was the first Irish person to be elected as the President of the International James Joyce Foundation.
